How to split, extract, reorder and rotate PDF pages

Quick answer

To split a PDF into one page per file, use Split PDF; to keep only some pages in a single file, use Extract Pages; to remove the ones left over, use Delete Pages; to change the sequence, use Reorder Pages; and to straighten sideways pages, use Rotate PDF. They all show thumbnails or produce the result in seconds.

Five similar tasks, five tools

Organizing the pages of a PDF looks like a single task, but there are five different situations, and choosing the right tool saves time. The general rule: if you know what you want to keep, extract; if you know what you want to remove, delete; if you need every page separate, split; if the order is wrong, reorder; and if the orientation is wrong, rotate.

Split: one file per page

Use Split PDF when each page needs to go its own way, such as one invoice per customer, one payslip per employee or one form per person. The result is a ZIP with one PDF for each page. With long documents, extract the ZIP into an empty folder so the files do not get mixed up.

Extract and delete: keep only what matters

If you only care about two pages of a hundred-page report, Extract Pages produces a new PDF with the thumbnails you select, in their original order. When it is the other way around, such as removing a duplicate cover and a blank page, Delete Pages does the same job by marking what goes. As a rule, select the smaller group: few pages to keep, use extract; few to remove, use delete.

Reorder: drag until it is right

Out-of-order scans and hastily assembled handouts are fixed with Reorder Pages: you see the thumbnails, drag each page to the right place and can remove the ones you do not want on the same screen. With long documents, scroll through the list carefully before applying and check the result at the end.

Rotate: straighten sideways pages

When the scanner leaves pages sideways or upside down, Rotate PDF applies 90° clockwise, 90° counterclockwise or 180° to the whole document. The rotation applies to all pages at once; if only one is wrong, separate it with Extract Pages, rotate it and then put everything back together with Merge PDF.

Combining the tools

Real cases often take more than one step. A few examples:

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between splitting and extracting pages?

Splitting separates the whole document into one file per page, delivered in a ZIP. Extracting creates a single new PDF with only the pages you select.

Can I rotate just one page of the PDF?

The Rotate PDF tool rotates the whole document. For a single page, separate it, rotate it and merge it back with Merge PDF, or adjust the orientation while reordering.

Does deleting pages change the original file?

No. The tool generates a new PDF without the chosen pages, and the file you uploaded stays as it was on your device.
